Austin Stately is the Senior VA at Emerald Virtual Assistance. He has built EVA’s website through his expertise of WordPress web development and always strives to bring excellence and quality to the office. He works mostly with inbox management but handles many different tasks as well, making him a VA jack-of-all-trades. Tell us about yourself. Where do you live? What do you like to do for fun? Any hobbies or skills?
My name is Austin Stately. I live in the Pacific Northwest. For fun I like to play video games and hang out with my friends. I have two 3D printers and like to design and print stuff, mostly just for myself.
Why/how did you become a virtual assistant?
My virtual assistant journey is probably novel compared to most. I had started helping my sister with some one-off projects around the end of 2015 and was able to go full time in 2018. It was definitely a crime of opportunity.
What do you love most about your job?
The fact that every day while some things are a constant, there are also new things all the time that we handle. It forces you to be fast-footed and able to learn and pick up new skills very quickly.
What are you passionate about in the workplace?
Helping my clients keep their daily lives together.
What do you bring to the table at EVA? What type of work do you do as a VA?
As a VA I have done a lot of different kinds of work. Spanning from basic scheduling all the way out to project management and website building and maintenance.
What would you tell potential clients about why they should hire a VA?
I would tell them that if they are having a hard time managing their calendar and time, it’s definitely worth it to look into a VA. It may take a little time, but once we get their calendar under control, then we can start handling all the other tasks to be delegated.
What is something you wish people knew about being a VA?
Being 100% remote is very freeing, as long as you’re available during 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET and have internet access. You can work from anywhere.
What is something surprising or interesting about yourself that people might not know?
Most people wouldn’t know that I have a special place in my heart for chemistry. It’s alchemy and is amazing to see done, as well as the science that goes into it.
